FAQs

Is ClickOS free?

Yes. ClickOS is free to download, and every pack and setting works inside the ClickOS window, so you can try all of it first.

ClickOS Pro is a one-time purchase in the App Store. It brings your sounds to every other app. No subscription.

Why does ClickOS need Input Monitoring?

To play a sound when you click, scroll or type in other apps, macOS needs to let ClickOS notice those events. That permission is called Input Monitoring.

ClickOS only uses it to know that a click, scroll or key press happened, so it can play the matching sound. It does not read, record, store or send what you type.

I hear nothing. What should I check?

Make sure ClickOS isn’t muted: check the menu bar icon, or press ⌃⌥⌘M to toggle mute.

ClickOS mutes itself while your microphone is in use (calls, dictation) and while sound plays over Bluetooth. Settings › Mute says why it is quiet right now, and both can be turned off there.

In other apps, sounds need ClickOS Pro and Input Monitoring (System Settings › Privacy & Security › Input Monitoring).

Why is it muted on Bluetooth?

Bluetooth speakers and headphones add a short delay, so clicks can sound late. That’s why ClickOS mutes there by default. If you don’t mind the delay, turn off Settings › Mute › On Bluetooth audio.

Can I use my own sounds?

Yes. Drop a sound file onto any gesture to use it instead of the pack’s sound. WAV, AIFF, CAF, M4A and MP3 work. You can also mix sounds from different packs.

How do I mute it quickly?

Press ⌃⌥⌘M from any app, or use the menu bar icon. You can change the shortcut in Settings. App rules let you mute ClickOS in specific apps, for example during presentations.

Does Pro work on all my Macs?

Yes. Pro belongs to your Apple Account. On another Mac, or after reinstalling, open the Pro screen and choose Restore Purchases.

Do my settings sync?

Yes, through your own iCloud account. Settings, your sounds and your packs go to your private iCloud storage. We can’t see them.

Which Macs does ClickOS run on?

Any Mac with macOS 14 Sonoma or later. Haptic scroll feedback needs a Force Touch trackpad.
